So lately the server has been going through phases where everyone gets permanent red or yellow chain and there is a lot of de-synchronization. Earlier today somebody suggested that this was as a result of a player connecting with a high ping.

I began screenshotting the player with the highest ping to document this and it would appear not to be the case. For a long time, I suspected Vanya was responsible. Every time I checked he was either above 300 ping, or had been kicked because of ping too high. However, after a particularly bad spike, he and a number of others disconnected. The situation continued, and a good 10 minutes later the desync was still awful. Two players could not connect. The highest ping on the server at that point was 34.

So, high ping is not the cause, though it may be an aggravating factor.

Hello slawterer,
Thank you for your detailed report about the desync issues. We're really sorry for this to occur on our Epoch server and we will definitely ask information from our hosting party on how this can happen. If needed we will move our servers to change this problem.

Kind regards,
iiAp-.

Well, one thing I have thought is that reducing the ping cap to 300 or so might help. As discussed, I don't think it would fix the whole problem, but high ping does generally seem to aggravate the issue.

Reducing the maximum ping is one of the things we will be doing. Read more about this problem here: http://www.zombielife.org ... /newspost/25020

It does appear to be bad today Thought it may be a hack at one point but there was only regular players on during several of these "incidents" it must be a server side issue and i believe that iiAps idea to raise about 2 million for an apache gunship is a good recourse however the cost of fuel and munitions may also bolster the price considerably.

Oh and i volunteer to be gunner....

Sounds good, I received Black Friday discount on an used Apache. They said it's used by some old lady to go to the shop with. So it will be good.

To stick with the topic, can you send the name of this player to me, 1ron? Don't think it's him causing it but always worth checking out. I've asked my hosting company to clarify some stuff. It may be DDOS attacks.
